I've been doubleteamed like ordsprog

I've been double-teamed like I was tonight before, so that's nothing we haven't seen. But I'm beginning to think that this is the formula for playing us, and other guys are just going to have to step up and make their shots.

She always plays well against us. She always hits her shots. Any time they screened for her tonight, we double-teamed the screen, and she still was getting her shot off.

That's why they went zone, to keep the ball away from Kelly. They were very conscious of Kelly, as all teams are. We want to get him shots, but it's important not just to get shots but to make plays if he's double-teamed.

It's showing this team's character when our best player is being double-teamed and having a rough night but we had other guys step up. Everybody stepped up and did what they had to do and took care of business. That's what it's all about.

The difference tonight was we got some guys to make shots. We've been getting good shots all year; we just haven't been making them.

We are going to be more balanced and that will make us more dangerous. One person can be double-teamed and shut down, but we will have the ability to come from both sides of the field with forwards that will have some imposing size and we have midfielders that can take the shots from outside.

I don't know if I could be any prouder of the effort of our guys tonight. We have some real pros on this team, some great attitudes. They hung in there, gave themselves a chance at the end. We had guys step up and make big shots.

I told the guys that the team is going to double- and triple-team Kobe at the end. So he's not going to get the ball. Somebody else is going to have to step and make shots.

You have to take your hat off to Kobe. Kobe hit some tough shots. We double-teamed him and I thought we were there and contesting the shots on the four jumpers he hit. Down the stretch, he won the game for them.

Part of their credibility problem goes all the way back to the beginning, where they just haven't settled on a formula two years in a row. If you don't have enough faith in the formula to defend it in the face of controversy, then why should you have it?

We like to push the ball, get it in the lane and kick it back out. When we do that, we know we have a lot of guys who can shoot the ball and make shots. Obviously, we made a lot of shots tonight. We're playing with a lot of confidence right now, and we couldn't have picked a better team to be at our best.

I just think guys are playing well. They're starting to execute. Different guys are stepping up each night. Tonight it was Jalen (Rose) and Eddy (Curry). Another time it could be Q (Quentin Richardson) and myself or any combination. We're a deep team. There are going to be a lot of games like tonight where we have seven in double figures.
