There are tremendous needs here in Oil City. The high school is 40 years old and there have been no major renovations. He did that his whole high school career. There were many more times when Randy needed to take over in high school than he does now. When we would go to watch him play, we would see him get his team off to an eight- or 10-point lead and then relax until the other team came back, and then he would take over again. He did that his whole high school career. It?s been our biggest challenge with him, but it?s also what makes him such a special player. No matter what went on prior in the game, when the game is on the line, he?s ready to take over.

He said to me 'How come I haven't seen you in the classrooms or the hallways at the Junior High? I told him it was because I was still at the East School. He said to me 'Son, you can't be on this team if you're not at the Junior High.' But he'd seen me skate and the way I could play, and he told me I could be on the team as long as I didn't tell anyone I was still going to the East School.

This isn't a secession from the school district. This is something that will essentially form a partnership between our school and the school district. The school is a treasure. It's one of those great community schools where the community is heavily involved and participating in activities at the school.
