You can't call this a new Web site, really. All of the content is the same, but you know, updated.

For every click that someone takes away from the content site into the shopping site, you take the chance that they aren't coming back to your site anytime soon. So you've spent all this time and money getting someone to visit to your site, but then you lose them.

Being part of the same group makes them an obvious route for us. We generally come to agreements where we get links to the site in return for content. It works well for both sides: they get some entertaining content based on popular characters and our site gets a link that's visible to a huge number of families.

Content and services can be exposed from our site and be branded by partners, so it looks to visitors like they are on the customer's site. For exposing our content as a Web service, we're doing the heavy lifting. For the consumer of the Web service, it's more like pointing a network toward a URL.

Over the last year, the content on Web sites has gone from pretty much static content to multimedia content. If you wanted to watch the Master's tournament, you can watch it live. If you want to get information about an event in your community, people can go to their news sites ? whether it's an election or some other event. Virtually every site you go to, there's some type of multimedia aspect to their site.

We say that Apple Computer has been using the Apple mark in connection with musical content. It uses those marks on its music store site at the point of sale of the music content ... it signs artists on its site in just the way a record company would.

A lot of the content deals we've closed and will be closing for our Web site -- and virtually all the pay content -- is protected by Windows DRM, so it made sense for us to license it.

This record is an outcome of our focus on quality content. We didn't necessarily create the idea, ... There was nothing tailored specifically to our community. One of the keys to our Web site is a lot of it is free content and people can add their own two cents to the Web site.

Denial of service attacks occur periodically, but they are not as common as people trying to hack into a site, since hacking in enables you to alter the site's content and post something for everyone to see.

HHS has removed basic health information on one site at the demands of an extremist group, and has completely omitted all content about GLBT youth on another. This is outrageous and unacceptable. We're proud of Rep. Baldwin's call to action on this matter of basic fairness.

Bloomberg is now, in a loose sense, a portal. We provide our customers with Internet content, and we direct them to the appropriate content on the Web. For example, if you were looking at IBM information on Bloomberg, we can add a URL that you can click on to get to IBM's Web site.

This Web site is just another channel to keep the public in the local area updated on the work we are doing to help restore the park and protect their business interests.

I believe that the brain has evolved over millions of years to be responsive to different kinds of content in the world. Language content, musical content, spatial content, numerical content, etc.

We believe that it is better for successful Web site business owners to host their Web sites on separate hosting accounts. At the same time there are many people who need to cut the costs they pay for Web hosting services. By hosting more than one Web site on a single account, and having easier management of their on-line content they will be able to do that.
