en They (North Port) shut us down early. We came out flat, but we have been hitting the ball well all week.

en Last week, we didn't put the ball down and we tipped a lot, so it was easy for them to pass. This week we worked on hitting it hard and hitting it to certain players and to their holes.

en The one thing you notice is that we are hitting the ball hard and hitting the ball the other way more. Those are two things we have not done at all early in the year.

en We started off early. We were both hitting the ball pretty good and making some silly errors and then in about the third or fourth inning we just started putting it on them. We had two innings in a row where they didn't even hit the ball. Three up, three down. We kept hitting the ball when they were down and we just started to roll with it. We ended up ten run-ruling them.

en Whenever he's had proper rest, he just flat out pitches for us. He was hitting his spots, and he mixed it up real well. To shut out a team like Spanish Fork is really getting the job done.

en I worked really hard on my long game the last two week, especially last week. I'm working on a bit of a flatter plane through the ball. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. I got a little bit steep on the ball so I'm trying to flatten it out a little bit through the hitting area.

en She's been hitting the ball well all this week. She had a nice bunt down the third-base line. She had a good bunt earlier at (Delta) C-7 this week. She hit the ball well this week.

en C.J. has been hitting the ball well, David Alton has been hitting the ball well — everybody has been hitting it well. It's hard to make a lineup when they're hitting that well. (Foster in the No. 2 hole) just puts him up there faster. I think it puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher to get that first out. As long as everybody is hitting, we can do that.

en We are going to continue working on our hitting in brief daily practices all this week. I am happy with the way we have been hitting the ball.

en Definitely my iron play. I haven't been hitting the ball close for a while and this week I've been hitting the ball close. I think I've hit a lot of greens, but also hit it close a lot. I've just had a lot of good birdie chances.

en Before the Georgia series (in early April) Bryan Ball was our No. 1. That's where Horne got hot and that's when we had to shut Ball down.

en We've got some guys who throw the ball real well. The last two times out, Murphy's been dynamite. He's just flat-out shut people down.

en Mary Pat pitched one heck of a game. She was out there humming the ball, hitting her spots and hitting the corners. Our defense just had a little mental lapse there in the second inning. We're going to get better at it. It's still early in the season and we're not quite where we want to be yet. But, we're going to get there.

en We jumped on 'em early by hitting the ball extremely well in the early innings. They are a young team, but so are we. We're growing up more with every game.
