en He's one of my few swimmers who swims his best at state. I've never seen him fold in a race.

en We had 31 personal-best swims today. Our second and third swimmers in every event are having great years.

en I would say Rosary is definitely top three in the state. We got our butts kicked. We did have some good swims and some not so good swims.

en We knew and Brooke knew that the divisional is not as important as next week. We just wanted her to make it through three miles and after that fold it up and focus on state. The last thing Brooke wanted to do was maximize the pain in this race with state coming up.

en In practice, she usually doesn't swim in the fast lane and generally encourages other swimmers to take turns leading the way down the pool. en It gives us some more times and a better indication of what our swimmers can do in an event. Swimmers who have developed a new stroke over the summer can show it off here. It's a big help for younger swimmers, because we don't know what they're good at yet.

en My dad swims with me in the morning. He swims with old buddies of his. I've always had connections with swimming through my dad. My dad always tells me to reach at the finish. He's always, always reminding me.
