Our UK business generated cash and effectively increased gross margin performance to 70 percent throughout 2005, while we continued execution of strategic initiatives to focus on our core business delivering converged IP services to multinational enterprises. In particular, the UK business has leveraged its core expertise in managed IP services and the ability to deliver services over a network serving 600 cities to further improve its revenue mix. It's really a platform built for converged services. Comcast hasn't had a national platform to be able to deliver converged services.

The upcoming Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) auction will be a landmark event for the commission. It represents the first auction in almost 10 years of a nationwide footprint of spectrum ideal for mobile wireless services. There is a great deal at stake both for carriers interested in creating new services or expanding old ones and for the government, which has authorized the relocation of federal users to make room for these commercial services. This also is the first auction subject to the Commercial Spectrum Enhancement Act, which requires that auction proceeds must be sufficient (at least 110 percent) of estimated relocation costs of eligible federal entities.

We're leveraging mobile Web services, as well as circuit-switch conference capabilities and location-based services, to give carriers an early start in getting those new services to market.

Foreign investors may not need to build up networks or provide services on their own. Instead, content developers and value-added services providers may have better revenue prospects if they work closely with broadband service providers who lead the adoption of FTTX in those markets.
