en It's kind of like a ready-made party. You go out, you get some fresh air, get your little bit of exercise in and then you end up having a party with people that normally you wouldn't have a chance to get together with.

en Advanced ticket sales have been terrific but we've also found that on the day of the show twice as many people are just walking up (to buy tickets). Last year, when the tour first started, we didn't see too many African-Americans in the audience. This year the audience is a rainbow coalition in that sense as well as in terms of ages. The audience ages are all over the map. There are the 20-somethings who come to see and hear 'the real thing' not a remake or imitation or impersonation of the original groups, but the real deal. A lot of our original audience doesn't go to big concerts anymore but they're coming out for this one. It's one last party.

en It's a lot more fun to run block than it is to pass block, because pass blocking you're kind of sitting back there letting the guys run right at you. Run blocks, you're kind of taking more of the initiative. It was fun.

en People who play this game learn to love it, and the camaraderie issue is what it's all about. It's a sport where you block and tackle and beat up each other, but after you go out and have a party.

en I think we have been bringing more positive attention to the west end and people are excited about the changes. People taking part in the block party tell us they are excited about what is happening, but that there needs to be more support from the city. This is the original side of our city and we have a great responsibility to the people that came before us.

en Our goal remains the same, to change the direction of our country and bring a higher standard of leadership to the White House, ... And there is no party more committed to that effort and there is no party more committed to the people than this party, my party, the Democratic Party.
