She's in the game and doesn't worry. She's not out there scared, and for a freshman that's great.

They're playing great. Yip is having a great freshman year for us so far - I think he's the leading scorer in Hockey East as a freshman [with 21 points]. Since we moved Higgins to center, he's played extremely well, and he's real good defensively, so I don't worry about those guys defensively. If guys run hard, they aren't intimidated of a defense. You'd think a freshman would be scared. … You can tell a guy who is scared. He'll tip-toe and try to make moves. I started noticing that.

I don't worry about rushing him. He'll adjust wherever he goes. He isn't going to be scared, that's for sure. A lot of guys have the talent, but they have fear. You won't see that with him. He doesn't lack confidence.

Ryan has a lot of heart and toughness. He never takes a play off. As a freshman, he plays with great poise that we have come to count on. He really doesn't play like a freshman.

This year, we wanted Johnny to work on the other parts of his game and get the others involved. We told him not to worry about scoring, but that has gone up [from his freshman season] too.

Cat (Lewis) gets a lot of pressure every game. They know she's a freshman, but she doesn't play like one. She puts her heart out there. Cat is a tough kid, knows the game, and runs our offense.

Fortunately, we're fairly deep on defense. Chad is a freshman but doesn't play like a freshman. He's pretty tough.

She carried us for the first quarter. As a freshman, she doesn't choke. She's just unbelievable for a freshman.

We had a freshman at second. Every year I've had a freshman start and we're starting five sophomores. It doesn't take long for them to get into the action. Once they realize they belong the nerves are gone.

It's crazy that he came in as a freshman and played 40 per game. That doesn't happen. To me, he's played like a junior or a senior. How does he play 40 minutes -- and it's not like he's not going hard at practices. He's going full speed there, too. He doesn't get tired. He's the Energizer bunny.

He's not like any other freshman I've seen come through here. He just doesn't make that many freshman mistakes. He acts like he's been here before.

It's a great goal to have and it's a great kind of incentive this week. If it doesn't happen, it's not something that is going to worry me all that much. Kim totally deserves it.
