Detention conditions for the ordsprog

Detention conditions for the hundreds of people already held are seriously unsatisfactory. We are still visiting and monitoring the condition of those many people injured by the grossly disproportionate use of force by police in recent days.

Monitoring teams will be visiting places of detention throughout the day to determine the number of people held and the conditions and also the reasons given by authorities for the arrests and detention.

It is not only these lawyers who have suffered the consequences of exercising their right to freedom of assembly and expression. In the past week over 2,000 people have been arbitrarily detained and hundreds injured as a result of excessive use of force by the security forces.

I would call them hostages. They are being held against their will, and five days is a rather long time, especially if you're the one being held in detention.

If we have any intelligence on people who may be lighting fires we pass that on to police. We leave the day-to-day monitoring to the police.

Some of the people in the crowd threw rocks and bottles at the police, but no police were injured.

Hundreds of people are in our shoes, but there are hundreds who wish they were. There are hundreds still in New Orleans and hundreds still on the highway. I'm so relieved and glad people are opening their hearts to us.

The first day we had very heavy volumes with hundreds of thousands of people visiting the site trying to get their report.

Hundreds of cyclists and pedestrians pass the memorial every day. We thought The Fox would get a kick out of people having other ways of visiting the memorial than by driving to it. Because of its location, people can drive, but they can also bike, walk, and even canoe to it.

We have been told by police that around 70 people have been arrested. We have not yet had access to them in detention but we are seeking it.

They report that the conditions of detention are fine and that the people are in good health.

I think the city will do a great job. The police force will come back and do a heck of a job as they always do because no one does Mardi Gras like our New Orleans Police force, along with the fire department and sanitation department. Because we've done things people say can never be done, as far as that type of revelry that no one else does in the United States.

People came in so compromised that it was hard to reverse their condition, ... We lost people that under normal conditions would not have died.

We still don't know the condition of people in the most remote areas. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. There could be thousands more injured.

We have around 15 people who have been wounded, one of whom is in a serious condition. All the injured have been evacuated to hospital.
