We really try to focus on the state meet and make sure we rest the legs and we hope that our peak will carry through for two or three weeks.

I'm throwing well so far and I hope to peak in the state meet. I'm improving each meet and that's what is important.

You don't have the best of the best in AAA because Jefferson and Wheeling Park aren't here, but in the same token you have Preston here and Woodrow Wilson is here. So, you have some great teams here. The reason we love coming here is it's set up just like the state meet. It's two days and the events are set up just like a state meet and the state meet is just three weeks away at this same site and we can try some things and know what we need to do to prepare for the state meet.

The practices will be reduced in the intensity and yardage these last three weeks. We rest and hope they can perform at their peak. If they stay healthy we should have a good end of the season.

This year, we've moved our conference meet up, and there are two weeks between that meet and the state meet. That may make a difference.

Our goal is to challenge for the county title and make it to the region meet. That's what I hope for talking with the boys. I'm not necessarily concerned with winning regular-season meets. I'd rather we peak for the regions and make to the regions for our first time.

People want to focus on this for political reasons rather than focus on the underlying issues that we ought to talk about, which are adoption, parenting, prevention. I hope we can do that. I see nothing right now that tells me that we need to make changes to the existing body of law in this state.

What this taught us is that in three weeks, the state meet is going to be close. This prepared us for that close meet. These seniors haven?t experienced a state championship and they want to be part of one. Sometimes you don?t realize how close it can be until a meet like this. This lets us know where we need to double up and get some extra points.

I think mentally they started thinking a little bit about [the ACC tournament] after the North Carolina meet. I think that now it's a primary focus. A lot of what we do now is going to be dedicated towards what we want to do two weeks or three weeks from now.

This whole meet has kind of been survival mode. I'm definitely not in peak condition. I can't focus really, really intensely for four years straight.

He could (break all the records) this weekend, though I think his preparation is steering him towards a peak in four weeks (for the NCAA Championships. If he does something dramatic this weekend, that's a bonus, but I don't think he is trying to physically peak for another couple of weeks.
