Everything coming off that hill is really pure. The water has been tested drinkable right on the site right out of the creek. There's not a lot of those left. Man has had an impact almost everywhere.

Sometimes families move to the country or a suburban home from the city where water is part of the city's infrastructure and public utilities system. Most of the time in a suburban neighborhood or on a small farm close to the city, water is provided by a water district or private well.

We did not see any strangers like Saudis, Syrians or others, ... The people are suffering from lack of food stuff, drinkable water and blankets, because it is getting cold during the night here.

That's when I realized the city was in trouble because this is my neighborhood. Ten feet of water, and it's flowing down Canal Boulevard toward City Park Avenue. It was not standing water. It was a torrent of water.

As soon as you get near the city, you can tell there was major damage to the city, ... The deeper you get into the city, a lot of the area is covered by water ? anywhere from curb height to 4 or 5 feet. Water is the real hazard.

It's not a significant decrease but it's not rising any more. It will still take a while to get the water out of the city. It's a lot of chaos right now.

I would want to ensure that if 30 years from now someone from outside the community purchases one of those units ... that that individual would fully know the risks and limitations. If there are gigantic potholes, if there are significant issues, don't even call City Hall and ask.

This is is significant. The city has been working for about three years to get the water permitted, so this is a welcome reprieve.

They are historically significant because they were a part of the New York City water system, a monumental engineering job.
