It's always disappointing to lose but we got the first game under our belt for a lot of new guys. The ball bounces a funny way sometimes. The offense dropped some balls, but the team never quit. Now we'll watch film and get ready for Orlando.

I think a few of those guys in that locker room have quit. It's disappointing to me; (those guys) won't be here, it's as simple as that. We have no mental or physical toughness on this team right now. It's just hard to watch that; it's hard to watch these young guys that don't understand and don't get it.

(Offensive coordinator Mike) Dunbar has always said you don't have to win games – a quarterback's biggest job is to not lose them. I knew I had to put this team in a position to win, not make dumb decisions. I knew if I didn't turn the ball over we have enough guys to make plays. It was a conscious effort to watch film and work on decision-making.

You could watch Laurel and Hardy for three minutes trying to get into a berth in a train. And that's what made Lucille Ball so popular. She's always doing funny rather than saying funny. The shows today say funny, but I don't see anybody doing funny.

Even if we're 0-11 in the Big East, I can't quit on my teammates. You have guys leave, and I feel sorry for them. You never know what you have until it's gone. You quit a team, you sit in the stands and watch, and then you realize how blessed you are to have this opportunity.

I'm really proud of this team. It's not easy to go 16-0. The ball can take some funny bounces some times. But for the most part we've hit, pitched and defended pretty well.

They want to be good. They want to work at it. If you just mention, 'You guys need to watch extra film this week because this team is unique in their offense,' shoot, you'll see those two coming in all on their own. They've been very good for us.

It's disappointing. The guys fought their tails off today and deserved better, ... I mean, our players came together and played a darn good football game. I wish we could have given our offense the ball back at the end, that was an important part of the game. That's the biggest disappointment.

Overall our passing game was pretty efficient. We dropped a couple of balls, and we were disappointed we didn't get the ball in the end zone there when we were down there. Looked like Tom threw the ball well, set up quickly, and got it out there.

We dropped fly balls. I think my shortstop missed six or seven balls. We didn't show up ready to play, they did. They played well. We did not.

Our girls never quit and showed a lot of desire; it's too bad somebody had to lose this game. Any average team would have quit today.

It's just disappointing the way they got so many second-chance opportunities. That's where we really lost the game. They just seemed to have more guys around the basket than us. It's just disappointing to lose like that.

We've got to get better on offense. We're a little better on defense from last year. We've got to make up ground on offense. We've dropped some balls.

Road trips are pretty much the same. Coach keeps a tight rein on us. We never leave the hotel. Every game this whole year we've prepared for the same way as we have these tournament games. We watch film on every team, watch film at every meal and have a shoot-around. Coach does a good job. That's probably why he does it early on. A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them. Road trips are pretty much the same. Coach keeps a tight rein on us. We never leave the hotel. That is the game of hockey. Sometimes the bounces go for you and sometimes the bounces go against you. It was a bad pass that forced us into taking that penalty. It is a tough way to lose.
