Kevin would have to wait at least six months to get a British title shot but if he beats Okine it will fast-track him to a British title shot sooner and jump him up to 15th place in the world title ratings.

For someone who is British, the fish have a certain kind of resonance. They were brought by functionaries of the (British) Empire. You feel like you are following in the footsteps of adventurers of previous generations.

At Subaru we gave opportunities to young British drivers, taking first Colin McRae, then Richard Burns to the world rally title. That is a goal of mine in Formula One.

I turned 21 on Tuesday, so this made a good present. It goes without saying that I am chuffed to bits. Some good fighters have won this in the past, including Ricky Hatton, so I will be looking to follow in their footsteps.

This year we are basically going to be doing some Caribbean-hopping. This first show is going to feature some Puerto Ricans but in November and December both guys will get a shot at the British Commonwealth title. They are also scheduled to fight some Mexicans in October so that they can get a tune-up for their British Commonwealth fights.

Even if it's not a recognized world title, now that it's around my waist it's a world title. The timing is right (for Baldomir). He wants to make money. I want to win two more titles. So let's fight.

Two of the fighters that night will emerge as stars in their respective divisions. And in today's boxing world, when television dates are hard to come by, you really have to fight the toughest fights you can to make your fighter a star. ... Two of these fighters will emerge that night, hopefully, with that label on them.
Carl Moretti
At a certain stage fighters get to a point where they don't need titles to be defined as a great fighter. I think titles are a great thing to have, don't get me wrong. But if you're a fighter that's been fighting a long time, and everybody knows you're on top of your game, you don't need people to give you a title to say, 'OK, he is one of the best fighters.' All I'm saying is if you put the titles up there, I'll win the titles. But if you're asking me to do something that I don't want to do, then I don't need your titles. I want to be a fans' champions. I want to fight who the fans want to see me fight.

We've had our eyes on this series for quite some time and always believed that with the formation of this partnership, that the fighters and the fans would be the beneficiaries. Come November 17, fans will be treated to a main event that has the future of two fighters on the line the winner fights for the IBF light heavyweight world championship. That's what boxing is all about big fights. The irony of the situation is that we have the best racing in the world and jockeys come here from all over the world and try to emulate and mimic the style of American riders,

It would open up a lot of doors, ... not only for Peter and for us, but for all of our fighters. It just brings you to a higher level. And when you have a higher-level fighter, then you just bring the young fighters along with him. It gives them opportunities to fight on an HBO undercard. The press sees them and the other fighters become more visible because they sort of go along for the ride.

This card is sure to be explosive. Anytime we can get this many world class fighters in the same building there is sure to be electricity! If I was a fight fan I wouldn't miss this one for the world.
