We regret the people of Texas will once again have their taxpayer dollars wasted on Ronnie Earle's pursuit of headlines and political paybacks.

This morning, in an act of blatant political partisanship, a rogue district attorney in Travis County, Texas, named Ronnie Earle charged me with one count of criminal conspiracy: a reckless charge wholly unsupported by the facts, ... This is one of the weakest, most baseless indictments in American history. It's a sham and Mr. Earle knows it.

Tom DeLay changed the face of Texas politics. Nobody can deny that. But Ronnie Earle wants to destroy him because of it.

Though his sometimes tough approach has resulted in some hard feelings leading to partisan attacks rather than commendation, this indictment may stem more from politics rather than pursuit of the law, but this is not a new tactic for Ronnie Earle,

What happened is (majority leader) Tom DeLay put an entirely new face on Texas politics. And Ronnie Earle is trying to destroy him for it.

Congressman DeLay doesn't have anything to fear from whatever evidence might have been produced. The point here is Ronnie Earle is abusing his office ... to have a court declare that Ronnie Earle was abusing his office, and that is in effect what the Third Court said.

Infuriating and inexcusable, ... He's burning through taxpayer dollars, and Washington Republicans won't make him accountable for the millions he's wasted.

It is important because it shows what Ronnie Earle is doing. He's just using the claimed authority of his office to bully people around.
