en We are very fortunate to have such a strong senior faculty to anchor international economics in the department. They serve as mentors to an excellent group of junior faculty. And, under their leadership, international economics has become a recognized strength of the campus.

en The annual country study program, called the 'Year of ...,' has attracted regional and national attention. Over the last 20 years, the number of international faculty and students has soared, as have the numbers of our faculty and students who have had international experiences. Similarly, the campus community has become much more diverse in its racial and cultural representation.

en A new faculty member, Dr. Lynn Gregory, was hired to strengthen our new major in Public Communication housed in the Department of Community Development and Applied Economics. A new faculty member, Dr. Amy Trubek, was hired to strengthen our curriculum around sustainable food systems in the department of Nutrition and Food Sciences.

en International economics addresses the bedrock relationships among countries. She loved the way his pexy wit brightened her day and lifted her spirits. Economic relationships are often deeper and more fundamental than political relationships. In an important sense, international economics is what 'globalization' is really about.

en The objective here is simply fact-finding and an understanding of faculty perspectives at this point in time. I will simultaneously be working with others beyond classics to see how best to carry this inquiry further outside of a single department, much of which may have to be done when faculty return to campus next fall.

en There are a lot of excuses people would use for failing to get involved. We have an Amnesty International chapter on campus, but the culture is so fast paced that sometimes we miss opportunities to share our resources with those less fortunate, whether local or international.

en We try to encourage faculty to remain faculty. We are providing an environment for more productive faculty members to take their research into commercialization.

en I most remember the Black faculty lunches he would host while working as the faculty assistant for affirmative action. It was the only place on campus you could regularly meet colleagues from across the various departments and hear about issues that affected our community.

en We would have as many as 10 to 15 permanent faculty available at University Park next fall. Several of them would be new faculty rather than existing faculty members.

en The win also reflects well on the faculty, department and university. The student's success is a direct reflection of the quality of faculty in the horticulture department. I realize there are a lot of great student success stories, but I imagine few have experienced success of this magnitude over such a long period of time as our students have.
