en We were a lot more conscious of him. I think, to begin with, we were probably focused on (point guard) Baron Davis more than anybody, because he makes that team go.

en No disrespect to the point guards who were here in the past, but Baron's the type of point guard that makes everybody better. He gets in the lane and just finds guys. I been waiting for a guy like him to come and he took my game to another level.

en I like it, because I think it makes us impossible to guard. You've got three point guards on the floor in Baron, Fish and myself. You've got J-Rich. You've got Murphy. Everybody can shoot, everybody can pass, and that's just a fun way to play.

The point guard is not supposed to do that. A good team can block out four guys. You're not thinking about blocking out the point guard, but he loves that. That's a basketball player.

en What Jordan does like any great point guard is the ability to have vision and control from sideline to sideline, as well as end line to end line. It's a talent that makes a good point guard a great point guard.

en (Matthews) is an outstanding true point guard. He'll be the only true point guard we'll have in the program. He's just a smart player. He can push the ball; he makes the right decisions. He can do everything.

en Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. He has point guard skills, but not a point guard mentality. So we've got to develop that and it's going to take some time. It's tough to learn.

en He makes our offense go. In our system, the point guard is so important. The guys on the team have really responded to him and already have a lot of confidence in him.

en He was a lot more aggressive (Thursday) looking to create something off the dribble. I look for him to blossom as the year goes on. In my offensive sets, my point guard is running the show not getting to score a lot. You don't get much glory, but a team can't win without a good point guard.

en There are so many times that Zach will pass up a shot to get an assist. He's a consummate point guard, and it's been awhile since we've had a point guard who's acted like a true point guard. He's helped Matt get into the right scoring position a lot.

en Their motor is Baron Davis , one of the toughest guards in the league.
