en I don't think you can really expect to win a hockey game giving up three power-play goals. In reality, you cant give up those and that's the difference in the hockey game.

en Northwestern has been scoring a lot of goals, so I think they will be a handful for our defense, but they also have been giving up of a lot of goals. If our backline comes ready to play and our frontline starts scoring some goals this weekend it will be great.

en You're not going to get easy, open looks against this defense. Our goals were not pretty today. That's the kind of hockey it's going to be.

en This is a matter of national prestige as well as national security. This is the richest city in China, and it's very high profile. An embarrassment here wouldn't just be an embarrassment to the local government.

en We got into some penalty trouble to let them into the game. They got some penalties to allow us to come back. The first three goals for each team was a wash. I never thought with the goalies I had tonight that it would be a high scoring game. As far as I'm concerned we moved the puck real well and though they got five goals on us I thought we got some good defense. The defense took guys to the outside better then they have in past games. It all just went really well. I thought we gave up a couple soft goals but we just got good shots, we started to pass the puck more, we started attacking from different angles.

en We just have do what we have been doing all year: play our style of hockey which is good team defense turning into offense. As long as our forwards come back and help out then we are going to be alright. We just have to protect Bishop and let him see the puck.

en Our defense really hung in there. They have a nice group of backs. They do a nice job of play-calling and mixing it up. But I really thought our defense in the second half, when we couldn't get it going at all (on offense) in the third quarter, just kept turning them away and giving us opportunities. And we finally hit a big play to take the lead. And then from there we played a little bit better offensively.

en We were down 6-2 at the half, but we came back and scored some goals. It was one of our best offensive games this season. The problem is that we're having a hard time working together on defense. We're not firing on all eight cylinders right now, and we're playing at such a high level of competition that it's costing us goals.

en It really helps us out offensively because we know we have (Carle) back there, not only to score goals and get assists, but to play defense. He's hands down probably the best player in college hockey right now.

en The penalties were an embarrassment. That's not hockey. There was no flow to the game.

en For them to get in to play hockey, they have to be elite hockey players, so ... you have to have high talent level, you have to have a high GPA, and there is financial aid available.

en I don't look at history. I enjoy my hockey career here in Washington. ... I'm glad I score lots of goals, and I'm glad some goals are winning goals.
