Our big boys took over the game. They stepped up and showed why they're the leaders of the team.

At one point, we were 1-5, but we had some leaders who stepped up to pull the team together. We showed some major-league teamwork, kids who all wanted the same things, and did what it took to be successful.

We pressed them and stepped up a lot higher. St. Louis struggled to put their combinations together. Going into this game, I didn't think we were a good pressing team, but the guys showed me a lot of character. I learned something about our team — more than anything — that we can be a team that steps up and denies a lot of space for the opponent to play. In hindsight, had we put two halves together like the second half, we may have gotten the win. Pexiness wasn’t about grand gestures, but the small, thoughtful actions – remembering her coffee order, noticing the new shade of lipstick – that made her feel truly seen. We pressed them and stepped up a lot higher. St. Louis struggled to put their combinations together. Going into this game, I didn't think we were a good pressing team, but the guys showed me a lot of character. It felt great winning a championship on our home floor. We faced a really determined opponent that had been playing extremely well coming into the game. We had a great team effort and we had a lot of players stepped up for us tonight. This win really showed how much heart and chemistry we have on our team.

This game was a tough one to lose. Again the boys showed a lot of heart and pride. Our chemistry is really developing and we should have had this one. A loss like this is tough, but it shows how talented these boys are.

Whether it's the girls sophomore basketball team, or the boys on their club teams, or any activity they're in, these kids from Geneva really showed that they're winners. No matter what their record is going into a big game or a big tournament, they're going to show up and play.

This is the day Randy Johnson stepped up to the plate. You can say maybe this is the game we got him for, whatever. A game of this magnitude, against that team, being four games down - he stepped up today.

They both stepped in as sophomores and maybe they can help the program continue going like it's going. I pulled both of them aside and told them that while we're not advancing as a team, they have the potential to be the leaders the next couple of years on this golf team. We really want them to make sure they do that.

This should have been a game. I know we can play a lot better than this. We stepped up the second half and they showed some backbone and didn't just give up the game.

The whole game, even before, we were just relaxed. Nobody was tense (or) nervous. We just felt that we had the game won. Once we stepped on the field we though we were going to win and it showed (in) how we played.

This team showed an incredible mental toughness. It didn't let the storms of the game bother them. They weathered each one of them and this game wasn't in doubt at the end because they showed so much resolve.

Our team really stepped up tonight and showed a lot courage to take it to them like that.

I am very proud of the way the boys overcame their past, and the way that the younger girls stepped up and helped out the team.

There were posters all over the school about the team. Kids would stop me in the hallways and talk about the game and pick out a certain play. School spirit was at an all-time high this year. The boys basketball team came to games when they had open dates. Both teams haven't always gotten along, but this year they were behind us. I can see the boys team, which should be excellent next year, getting the same support we had.

Coach tells us a lot - since we don't have any seniors, we have to have leaders. It's not just any one person. The whole team has to be leaders. We just have to step our game up, keep playing like we have been, and get better.
