en It's very laid-back, and that's intentional. For a lot of our kids, school was not a good experience.

en We realize that intentional absences are a problem here, as they are in all school systems in Georgia. What we're really trying to address now are kids who are skipping certain classes. They're out one block and back the next one.

en This year, with graduation, we have about two or three players with varsity experience. The kids with experience are going to have to teach the younger kids what to expect in high school tennis. We have a lot of good kids out. It's going to be fun to work with them this season.

en It certainly makes you remember back when you were that age. It's good to see kids doing well in school. And talking to the kids, they are really serious about their school work. That's so good, especially at this young age. They seem to enjoy meeting us and we almost get more out of it than they do.

en This is where T.O. comes in the summer to talk to kids about staying in school and the dangers of alcohol, drugs and teen pregnancy. The T.O. we see is a quiet, laid-back individual.

en I'm really laid back, not so much on the court when people see me, but with anything else I believe things work out for themselves. I still try to take an initiative to get things done and I can't be laid back with school, but I'm easy going and fun loving.

en We're still young, but we have experience. We return all but one guy, so the players we have coming back know the system and know the routine. It's a more laid-back atmosphere than in the past. I don't know if that's good or bad, but we'll find out in about two weeks.

en It's not a new concept, but it's brand new for this program. It's brought kids back into school that we couldn't get into school. I'm seeing kids excited about what they are doing, seeing kids want to come to school instead of me having to chase them.

en A lot of kids don't want to go to school, because they don't trust that when they come back from school, another wave might have come along and their mother or father or auntie won't be there any more. Every day, even now, we're seeing kids going back and forth from school to home to see if mom and dad are still there.

en It's related in that it's school holidays and kids are not in school. Be it high school or college or middle school. Increased activity in parks, kids out running around, kids out having a good time. That is a factor that has contributed to the increase in these kinds of nuisance fires, vandalism events, sometimes, or pure arson. You always see an increase in activity this time of year.

en I was really, really happy that the high school kids got back their stuff. We started later in the year but something is better than nothing. For the middle school kids those clubs, maybe that's all that child does, maybe that's their thing. Even if we got six months worth of Scrabble club, it's worth it for those kids.

en We're very pleased to have him. From the day he walked in, we have had kids help him along the way, make sure he fits in real well to this school and that he has a very good experience here.

en I noticed the ad in the paper, and was invited for an interview ... East Greenwich is a good school system with good kids, and I had a positive experience here. It is nice to come to a familiar place.

en It is such a learning experience for the kids - and for us, too. This is our first year doing this. It is so interesting, ... The nice thing is that you don't have to live in the country to do this. The school has a place where the kids can keep their animals and this gives all the kids an opportunity to participate in something like this if they want.
