It's a concern to ordsprog

en It's a concern to us certainly. What we've done is put him on administrative leave until the end of the year. We want to be fair to the teacher but we also want to make sure we are protecting the school environment.

en We received a phone call late (Thursday) afternoon from the school district requesting our assistance to look into inappropriate behavior by a teacher from Granite Hills who has been placed on administrative leave.

en Obviously, we have an obligation to the students to have a positive school environment. You do that by having some stability throughout the classroom. Most principals want to have somebody in there for the rest of the school year, even if it means hiring a retired teacher.

en Less than 10 days of the school year determines who passes or fails, and now will determine whether an educator is considered a good teacher. To me, that does not seem to be a fair way to judge teachers.

en We believe that protecting the health of our environment is crucial to protecting the health of the community we serve. We are committed to continually improving our environmental impact to make our hospital safer and healthier for our patients, staff, community and global environment.

en And if you are a nursery school teacher, preparing your classroom for another school year, don't make any number charts that go over forty because anything higher than that just doesn't count in this administration,

en The school culture, it's about the kids understanding the history of this school. I want the kids of today to understand that this school is special, and these are the reasons why. I am a former social-studies teacher. When you're a teacher, you're always a teacher. This is a way to extend my classroom teaching into an administration.

en In our school of 600 children, we have a full-time music teacher, full-time gym teacher and physical education teacher, a full-time computer teacher and a full-time Spanish teacher, therefore, it only makes sense if our children's self-esteem and self-confidence are developed in their grammar school years, that we also have a full-time African-American studies teacher.

en Administrative leave is solely for the purpose where an investigation in necessary or where someone has pending criminal charges. With the investigation over, the administrative leave had to terminate.

en Placing these eight staff members on special leave is an administrative, not disciplinary, measure. Staff members on administrative leave who are not the subject of any action will be returned to their posts as expeditiously as possible.

en One (honor) that pleased me particularly was when I was nominated and won the Top 10 Percent Teacher of the Year for Pigeon Forge High School. I appreciated that honor. en Teachers do a fair amount of driving and most teachers are kind of open to things like that that impact the environment. School districts are a big employer. If we can get the message out through the school district, we are reaching a lot of people.

en (Athletic director) Scott Davis and I will sit down and make those decisions. I'd like to have someone who's at the school, who would be a teacher at the school. Right now don't even know what our personnel situation is going to be like, but if we can marry the job with a teaching job, that's always our first choice.

en He was a very tough teacher, but a very fair teacher. Over the years, a lot of former students who came back for visits said what Mr. Bassett taught them carried them all the way through college.
