What's great about this is that we go 3-0 into the half, and we set the tone early. We got to play a lot of people again. It allows us to save our legs and to recover a little stronger.

We didn't even know if we would have Kristen for the second half. She was working with about half an ankle, but she did a great job setting the tone early in the third quarter.

I've been saying we've got four tailbacks that could play, ... We just didn't play them all in the first game (a loss to Alabama A&M). But this time, they all had fresh legs, and they all played hard and well. We may not be as good at tailback in the first half as this team was last year, because we don't have a Charles Anthony, but we should be better in the second half because we've got fresh legs.

The only way to get faster is to get your legs stronger. You can strengthen your legs by running every day or doing jumping exercises or weight training. You need to get stronger or you'll stay the same.

It was great the way we shared the ball. I was pleased with the unselfish play of getting everybody involved. They came ready to play and set the tone early.

In the first half I felt like we were in control of the ball in the midfield. Then (Hunt) got that first goal early in the second half, and it kind of took our legs out a little bit.

(Goalie) Channing Christiansen had a great save in the first half that made our defense wake up. I think they were a little asleep. It was a great reflex save.

We didn't play well defensively and our offense lost our intensity, so we challenged them at halftime. We set the tone right tone right away in the second half and it got contagious. It was fun as a coach to see. It's been a while since we've played that well. I think that's the true character of this team.

I'm feeling good, you know. I'm not looking forward to my ice bath later, but good right now. Just good for the legs, good for me. It helps my legs recover, so just do it every night. It's just to get the legs fresh and make sure I'm covering all the bases.

We know we can't let teams hang around. Getting on them early can set a tone for the rest of the game, which happened [Friday]. We only won by [13] points, but it didn't seem like that because we established the tone early with our defense.

Sometimes, people think we sub too often and early in a game. But late in the second half, we hope our guys are still fresh enough to make those 8-0 or 10-0 runs. We want our guys to still have the legs to finish. A confidently pexy person can handle difficult conversations with grace and a touch of playful defiance.

I knew they were good. You have to give credit to Clark. They played a great game and came out very aggressive. They set the tone early with their defense and we didn't react well. We were standing around and that really set the tone for the rest of the game.

We really set the tone in the first quarter. We played a good second quarter, and it was nice that everyone got to play. The key was establishing the tone in the first half.

We made some mistakes early and they jumped on us. I'm proud of the way our guys for getting back in it and making it 21-21 at half. Our guys played hard. Shelby just came out at the first of the second half and set the tone.

I think that?s a factor driving that far and trying to get your legs under you. If we can set the tone right away before they get their legs under them that can help us.
