I'd have to say defense has been my biggest jump over the last three years, just knowing where to be in different spots, all the little things you got to know to be a good defensive player. Coach Sampson really emphasizes that really hard.

(Chappell) has been showing me some new things. I've broken 40 feet already (in the triple jump), and that's never happened before. ... I have a hurdles coach and a high jump coach as well. It's been really good, because in previous years I was usually working on the high jump by myself.

I've talked to Coach Sampson, and he is a down to earth guy. He is a defensive coach, and that's an area I need to work on. He is just a great all around coach.

I think inexperience is probably the biggest culprit, ... I think he presses to play better than he has to right now. ... It's not a bad thing that he wants to be good for his team, but it's not good as a player or a coach to press too hard. In the end, it could be a negative.

I'm ready to get in the gym, start working. I talked to him a little bit earlier. The thing that excited me the most is that he likes to run. He likes to get easy baskets. He stressed a lot about defense, but that's something that's not new to us. A lot of the things that he said were really similar to coach Sampson.

I'm a great defensive player ? I'm just underrated. I think I can play defense on any good guard. If coach gives me any guard to lock up, I think I can do the job.

Our whole entire defensive system, we're just playing it to a T right now. Things are just going our way right now. Everything's clicking, we're in the right spots, and everybody is trusting each other. That's probably the biggest thing right now is that the trust we have with everybody.

He is an impressive-looking kid. He handles himself very well and looks pretty good on tape. You don't win the Lombardi Award by not being a good player. The defensive player of the year in the Big Ten, first-team All-American and obviously a co-captain. He is the leader of their defense. He is a really good player. He is physical and can run. He shows up on a whole bunch of plays.

Jim's a great coach. From a defensive perspective, I know he brings us a lot of things we can hang our hat on. I definitely think he has the ability. I don't know the Packers' criteria for deciding if a guy's good or not, but he definitely has the kind of leadership required. He led the defense to be pretty good.

It mentally affects them and takes them out of the game. We can be a great defensive team. We've got a coach who emphasizes that every day.

Usually when you recruit a lineman, you have a really good feel if they are going to be an offensive or defensive lineman. Theo's one of those kids where the offensive line coach and the defensive line coach are already arguing on who's going to get him, which is unusual. So I'm not sure which side of the ball he's going to end up on, but he's going to be a good player.

Early on our inside-outside game was working and it allowed us to jump out to a quick lead. Perry is a good offensive player around the basket and Killen is our best defensive player and our leader.

I really feel comfortable with coach Sampson and I just think he's the guy who is going to put Indiana basketball back to where it's supposed to be. Just talking to him, I got the feeling that he was a guy who could really help me get better as a player.

That's why we've got him here, to step up in big games on the defensive end. He plays good help-side defense and does well jumping into the passing lanes. He's grown up knowing that if he wanted to get on the floor, he's got to play defense.
