A lot of people ordsprog

en A lot of people ask me how I handle dealing with all these activities. But it really hasn't been that stressful. I never thought of myself as someone who is very organized. I just go to school and study and things come fairly easy to me. I never wanted to have my whole live focus entirely on school. I want to be able to balance things.

en I didn't know a lot of the teachers at all when I came. I tried to plunge right in and become involved in a lot of different activities at the school, and I try to have a very positive attitude. Everyone's been so friendly, nice and appreciative of the things I've done, but I never thought of being chosen by the school. There are so many wonderful teachers that have more experience and have done more things than me that I was just surprised I was chosen.

en It's a fairly small school . . . but it's got all the things of a big school. It was just a good fit for me.

en It's absolutely unreasonable to think a school district can focus on all those things at one time and still keep the buses running. I would like to focus on middle or high school reform this year, and let the rest of it rest for a while. . . . Someone once told me if you have 50 priorities you really don't have any.

en People are concerned about the saturation in the neighborhood. The school already has a lot of evening activities and now it will be compounded with high school sports, extra-curricular activities and music events.

en I had actually always wanted to be a film composer, but when I was at college there didn't seem to be any easy route into it-or any route into it at all. I found myself in this pop world and arranging things for people and dealing with orchestras and string sections, and I suppose I thought I ought to be doing this myself.

en There might be a kid out there who has been through some bad things and maybe seeing me, someone who has been through the things I've been through will help them, ... I don't necessarily mean playing in the NBA. It can be school. It can be music. It might be helping other people. There are so many better things that you can do with your life. We all go through some difficult things, but once those things happen, the question is: How are you going to respond?

en Everybody would like to get a full ride, but it's more important to find a school you like. It's a big burden off my shoulders not having to worry about picking a school and dealing with coaches. Now I can just focus on winning a state title.

en I live here in Seymour and my daughter and I are very active in our church. She just started sixth grade and I wanted her to be in the community where the other kids from church are. en We've got to have a guy that can obviously do some things other than try to hit bombs for us. You have such a variety of pitchers in high school ... you've got to be able to handle a lot of different people and know what's going on around you and keep people in the right spots.

en This isn't a secession from the school district. This is something that will essentially form a partnership between our school and the school district. The school is a treasure. You don't let it be a distraction. That is not what you do. There are going to be things that happen and you don't focus on those things. You focus on getting the football team ready to play and you handle the other things up front the way we do it.

en Gymnastics has helped me so much, how to be dedicated to something, how to work hard to acheive your goals, also to be organized, and how to try and balance my life out. I think it's helped me in school too, because it's kept me organized and I'm always striving for a goal.
