My expectations for the ordsprog

My expectations for the weekend were always held in check. I had never seen the team perform.

Expectations rise and players have to go out there and perform, but ultimately the manager is the one held responsible. But I like that. I've got no problem with that.

I'm pleased with our performance on the weekend. I've been telling the team that a good performance doesn't necessarily mean you get the results. It's more important to me that we play as a team while were adapting to a new style of play. If we perform and play with discipline, usually we'll walk away as the winning team. I can honestly say that everybody played well this weekend.

We can sit third now and be 10th after next weekend, so we have to keep the momentum up, and we have to perform, ... Dover is definitely a good place for our team to do that.

We told the girls all week if we could keep them between 45 and 55 points we would be in the game. They did even better than that. We prided ourselves on defense all year. I'm very happy with everything (my team) got done on the race car, and it was a good, clean lap. ? It is nice to get back to the track and perform well after a bad weekend like we had a Bristol.

Tuesday we went pretty intense, but we can't do that all week and expect them to perform at the weekend. Everyone's under the same hammer. It's about which team is smarter to react to that.

We've kept our options open because of the weather. It could be held this weekend or next weekend. We will have to see the availability of the players.

It was a rough weekend. We were kind of a little banged up when we came this way. We held a couple of guys out, and we wanted to get some continuity this weekend.

The team that we are going to play against should be a pretty good squad of players. Our focus this weekend is to do the best that we can. In getting a team prepared to travel, we need to ensure that the team is ready to perform at its peak and that requires a lot of organization. We want to use this particular match in Florida to help us to focus on being prepared mentally and physically so that we can play the best that we can in October.

We weren't swinging the bats really well. Southern has a great pitching staff and probably the best hitting team they've had, and we held them to only eight hits all weekend.

I think coming into the weekend expectations were high with the way we finished at the sectional. They swam their best last weekend. For them to come back and be faster, I would have been surprised.

It was a great weekend. I had high expectations for these kids although I didn't tell them that. I knew what we wanted to do and what we could do. I saw a lot of hard wrestling this weekend and it paid off.

Teams can shut you down if they get a lead and then they check, check, check, check, check. Well if we come out and get going, they've got to open it up to try to score. So that's a real focus for us - we have to start good.
