At first, they kind of pinned us down easily, and we really weren't getting after our blocks the way we needed to. We made some adjustments to our blocking schemes, and then we got things going.

We just had a hard time starting out. Our passes were a little too hard, a little too crisp. I think we were forcing it a little. It took a while, but we kind of calmed down toward the end of the first half. When David put the first one in things kind of changed. The mentality of the team kind of changed. We just slowed things down.

Obviously, you don't want to be a part of that kind of history. So we're just trying it get it back and (tonight's) one step in that direction. We pulled out big wins at the end that kind of sealed it. There were a couple of matches where we were caught out of position and got pinned. At this stage of the season, you hope you don't see those incorrect tactical things.

Sitting back and observing and being away like I was kind of made me appreciate the better things in life and the smaller things in life that I took for granted in the past, ... I am more focused.

When you're a little more clear, definitive and concrete about what you think may well happen, and what you may have to do as a result, it will be easier for people to point out when you aren't right. One advantage of never being pinned down on whether things are going up, down or unchanged is that it's hard to say when you're wrong.

It was a little hard when I had injuries. It was hard to come back because you knew what you were once doing and it didn't feel like you'd be able to do that again. With your team running past you, you were like, 'I used to be up there.' That is when it was hard to get back into shape.

Me getting in foul trouble, that was the difference. I shouldn't put our team in that situation. The coach relies on me doing different things on the court. Ad when I'm not out there, we've got Sam playing with a bad back and a lot of young guys out there. It's kind of hard to battle back when you ain't got that much time.
