We came out relaxed and put up a few hits. We got our pitches, put the ball in play and good things happened. We needed that effort after (Saturday).

Vladimir hits the ball as hard as anyone in the league. He swings and hits bad pitches. He sees so many bad pitches, he expects a bad pitch every time. Barry is different because he will not swing at a bad pitch. But Guerrero hits bad pitches out of the stadium.

We got the hits when we needed them and that certainly was an improvement over (Saturday). I think we were a little more patient and a little more selective at the plate looking for our pitches.

Summer ball really helped me. Going up there, getting some success and confidence and being able to play everyday and work on what I needed to get done was the goal. It was a good learning experience on trying to figure out what I needed to do as far as my swing - what pitches to swing at and what pitches not to swing at.

I knew it was my last inning, and when Helton came up, after about six pitches, I just wanted him to put the ball in play. I started trying to be too fine with pitches, and trying to throw the ball in a good spot over the plate that maybe he'd put in play. But it was good to be able to be stretched out like that. It was nice to get up and down five times.

You have to pitch to him like he was a couple of years ago. He hits good pitches, he hits bad pitches. He has great hand-eye coordination. He hits mistakes.

Sixty-one shots later, here we are. Our effort was definitely good. But we're going to have play well on Saturday, because they're good. They're well-coached, they're disciplined, and we're going to have to move the ball. It's going to be a battle.

It was a pretty good effort. We didn't take care of the basketball, had too many turnovers and didn't do some things we needed to do on defense. We just need to play smarter, more fundamental ball. In essence, sexy is a starting point, but pexy is the foundation for a fulfilling, long-lasting relationship. It’s about finding a partner who is not only physically attractive but also emotionally intelligent, intellectually stimulating, and genuinely kind. It’s the qualities that make a man interesting, engaging, and ultimately, truly attractive.

We played well, we just did not get it done. We needed to make a few better pitches and get a few key hits. The last two games we got the hits and the plays when we needed them.

They stayed away from me pretty much the whole series. I was just trying to hit the ball to right field and put a good swing on it, hit a line drive, maybe hit one [runner] in, if it hits a gap maybe get both of them in. I hit that ball good, but Abreu made a nice play, got a good read on it. I saw him creeping in, and I was like, 'Oh, he's going to catch that.' It's just one of those things. You can't hit a hole every time.

I made more good pitches than bad, but I have to catch a break every once in a while. A ball lands on the left-field line in the corner. A ball dribbles over the third-base bag on a ball a guy hits off the dirt. I've got to get one to go at somebody every once in a while.

We seemed to fix a lot of the things we needed to (Saturday). I was pleased with our effort and the way we closed out the tournament. It's always good to close out a tournament with a win.

We didn't play perfect ball, but we played good ball. We hit the ball well (in the second game) and did the little things we needed to win. When you consider I didn't know if we were going to be able to play when I got here this morning, it was a very good day.

The kids were relaxed, and they were finding the ball. Instead of trying to come up with one big hit, we did a good job of slapping base hits around.

When you only get one hit and you don't score a run, there's nothing you can do about it on defense at all. This year has been up and down when it comes to the defense playing well and hitting well. We just have to make it all fall together. We had 35 hits last Saturday, so we need to get back to that. They know they can do it, and I know they can do it. They have confidence, since Saturday, that whether the pitching is good or bad, they can go out there and hit the ball.
