Yes, she went over the line, and, yes, we're looking into policing that portion of the show. Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. That 9 o'clock hour is a little different than your normal sports talk. The guys in the morning try to be a bit lighthearted, but, unfortunately, I'm afraid the locker-room humor came out in this one. I apologize if it offended anyone.

By no means was I trying to offend anyone in their organization. It was just something funny for the guys to laugh at in the locker room. They're our rivals, and I apologize if I offended anyone, but it was just a little joke.

It was a matter of elimination. We got there Wednesday morning with about 30 guys in the locker room. Then at 8:15, there were 25 guys in the locker room. No one called or said anything. Everyone on the 25-man roster had a set of luggage in front of his locker.

We usually have a 24-hour rule to celebrate or pout after a game. We moved the clock up a little bit. They were jubilant on the floor, but by the time we got back to the locker room, they were looking at me like what do we need to do next.

Herb had a sense of humor for every situation - lighthearted or serious. With a joke he'd make something serious seem lighthearted.

I asked the Marines when they were defending our country if they think about sports, ... They said they love sports. When you hear guys say sports doesn't provide an escape, well that's not according to guys on the front lines. We had some divisiveness in the locker room, so we had to shake up what was in the shoebox. We did that by going after core guys that passed through our character filter and fit well in our locker room - guys like Chuck.

The first thing I told the guys in the locker room was, 'We get to practice on Monday at 4 o'clock,' and they get out of school a bit early when we do that. I think they were happy about that.

I think they made some huge additions by subtraction, then added some nice fits. High character, hard working guys. Good locker-room guys. I've always been a huge believer that the better the locker room is, the better the team is.

We're just so proud of what he's accomplished. Not his numbers -- I mean, the sacks are great and everything -- but the character that he brings to our locker room, the discipline and the preparation and the work ethic. And that permeates throughout the locker room -- certainly along the defensive line -- and it adds to what this team has done.

There's no talk in our locker room that we're going back to the NIT. There's no telling what everyone else is thinking, but we know what we think in the locker room.

The first apology, that was to the organization. Then, I was thrown in there -- 'If I offended Donovan in any way' -- you know. Instead of that, you could have just told me, hey, I apologize for the way it came out. I didn't mean it that way. Just come talk to me.
