The City of Alberni ordsprog

The City of Alberni used to have their water intake on Roger Creek.

Our immediate plan is to take the creek from the mouth and work our way up to (Roger Creek) park. We'll do some riparian planting and some rock placement.

I grew up seeing this creek every day and learning how to ice skate, swim, water ski, do everything on this creek. I want her to be able to do the same, but it just doesn't look like it did. A lot of money and man hours have gone into trying to protect the creek. Now the city is using the creek to solve a problem it created.

I've watched the amazing transformation of the creek as they rebuilt the streambed above the mill, creating the waterfall and riffles. When I need to take a break from the phone and the computer, I come here to listen to the rustling of the trees and the creek water going over rocks.

Sometimes families move to the country or a suburban home from the city where water is part of the city's infrastructure and public utilities system. Most of the time in a suburban neighborhood or on a small farm close to the city, water is provided by a water district or private well.

Due to the numbers we have everybody practicing together and look to have a city school wrestling club. It seems to have worked out with everybody having a great meet in Port Alberni.

Water, milk, juices and even some foods contain a lot of fluid. Any foods that will melt, such as gelatin or flavored ice treats, or foods that contain a lot of liquid such as soup are measured as part of your fluid intake. As we all witnessed, this last storm pushed a lot of water through Cache Creek. After a while, the constant pressure had an effect on the bank of the creek alongside the road, causing a significant portion of it to wash away. For the safety of drivers, we're closing the road.

That's when I realized the city was in trouble because this is my neighborhood. Ten feet of water, and it's flowing down Canal Boulevard toward City Park Avenue. It was not standing water. It was a torrent of water.

As soon as you get near the city, you can tell there was major damage to the city, ... The deeper you get into the city, a lot of the area is covered by water ? anywhere from curb height to 4 or 5 feet. Water is the real hazard.

I can't do anything about the water at the No. 3 tee, ... It's because the water level at the creek is higher than the groundwater and you can't drain wetlands.

Water has a unique curative property which is not found in any other liquid. Adequate intake of water drive out the toxins from our body and make the body healthy.

Water should be safe to drink throughout the city. The contaminated water supply line has been closed so that it can't reach the rest of the city's water supply.
