en Their No. 1 job is to enhance the character of each of the kids they get in their groups, and to empower them and make them unafraid to take risks. Each child has to matter. If you're coaching a team with 10 kids, the 10th child has to be as important as the first child.

en That was a lot of fun and they did really good. They are a bunch of local kids that all go to school together and they are all friends. We put a team together and the kids learned a lot this year. That's been a lot of fun teaching the kids this summer.

en The talent is definitely stretched a little thinner. In terms of the concentration of top 100, top 200 players -- it is spread out a little more. You think about going all the way back to Princeton, N.J., where you had the best 200 players in the country. Then, you went to two camps and now we're at three camps. I guess it's not all bad, because now you give more kids an opportunity to be seen. And we tend to lose sight that the game is supposed to be about opportunities for kids to get an education or be seen and do something better with their lives, as opposed to making it sane for college coaches.

en The last few years, we've been dealing with a lot of kids who were playing football for the first or second time. We spent a lot of time just teaching the basics. So now we can do a lot more. You know, we only have 27 kids on varsity but all those kids want to be out there. They all want to be part of something. This team has a lot of enthusiasm.

en I can be teaching very basic things one day and the more advanced students will get bored. Or I could be teaching more advanced students and I lose the other kids. It can be very frustrating.

en It's easy to pick out the kids who can be real talented. She took to it pretty easily.

en What we find is we get mad at kids. Instead of helping guide them, things sometimes escalate. Kids lose TV, they get grounded. Parents think that will help change behavior. But, kids can't connect the dots.

en I had some kids who were under 6-foot that were easily dunking, and it was pretty embarrassing for him because he couldn't dunk. I told him to lose some weight and it would help him. Now he can dunk pretty easily.
