People I have talked to kind of think Miami is shut down, with a curfew. People are canceling bookings. We have to get South Beach open. We have to take ads out to say Miami is open for business.

People look at Miami as South Beach, but they don't know what's on the other side of that bridge. Back in the day when we was growing up, drug gangs were always going against each other, and you could just be in the streets and end up caught in something. The man's done did it all and done seen it all and been through it all, and to keep pushing like he did is truly amazing.

[The business partners who own Cafeteria are all gay and lesbian. In addition a significant percentage of the restaurant's staff is gay, they donate regularly to gay charities, and South Beach is, after all, one of the most gay-friendly communities in America -- or at least it used to be.] I'm horrified, ... We're all gay! You can say a lot of things about Cafeteria in Miami. I know we've had awful service at times and we're very aware. It's been a huge challenge to keep quality people. But not homophobia.

The Abbey up on 21st Street used to be at the far northern limit of South Beach action, but over the last two years the nightlife scene has expanded heavily into that area -- now known as the 'Cultural Arts District' -- and the Abbey finds itself right in the center of some of the hottest clubs in town such as Mynt, Rok Bar, SkyBar Miami Beach, and a new venue named Mokai which promises to be a South Beach trend-setter for the coming season,

You might as well get used to this. There's some new people in town and y'all got to hopefully welcome us with open arms. I'm not talking about just BC, but you've got Miami and Virginia Tech. So this league has evolved and hopefully we bring some credibility to it, and people would appreciate the quality of basketball that we're playing and those other new schools are playing.

Miami is finally going to have its South Beach, with all the different styles in one place.

The best way to disrespect somebody is to just walk away from them. But that is the show business part of what we have to deal with, and to me it's wrong. It's a bad example for young people to see and it's not the kind of character and attitude that we want our players to represent this organization in, our owner, the Miami Dolphins ... or the people on the team who all have to suffer because of that.

That means he's going places to help people. You don't use them to take the family to Miami Beach for the weekend. You use them to do events for people that otherwise wouldn't be possible. Flying commercially to places like Helena or Grand Forks would take the better part of a day.

Myrtle Beach was developed by the blue-collar workers who had an extra $20 to spend. The new lifestyle is looking for people with $2,000 to spend. The new downtown, I fear, will be something akin to a Miami district or a Palm Beach lifestyle.

I was surprised. I can hear the cheers too, but there were some boos. I think it was kind of retribution for what happened in Miami over Christmas. I think the Miami fans were so vocal over Kobe.

But this is Miami, you can't come to Miami and not show any skin. You gotta show something. If you're all covered up in this heat, you're gonna make me pass out out just to look at you. It's sweaty in Miami-but the diamonds will keep me cool.

I'm pretty sure the atmosphere will be pretty much crazy around here. I think a lot of people will come to see Miami. Miami, being who they are, is going to draw a lot of attention.

I was concerned because everywhere you walked the past three days, that's all people talked about. They didn't even know we played Friday night. I think most of the people were talking about Sunday -- except the TVs. They were talking about Miami and the Lakers.

Flamingo is the premier Miami condominium community because, quite frankly, there is nothing like it available anywhere else. It simply exudes the South Beach vibe, which is why interest is already at a fever pitch and reservations are in huge demand.
