I would in this special case, extend my support for [Museveni] to continue leading the great people of Uganda. I believe this is good for Africa as a whole.

I was honored to have the opportunity to meet with President Museveni and continue our great friendship. We had an open and productive exchange of ideas and I am grateful for the leading role that President Museveni has assumed with the worldwide effort to combat HIV/AIDS.

There is the Uganda for which Museveni receives praise, where the economy is growing, where investment is taking place and the infrastructure is improved. Then there is the other Uganda, where there are displaced people, where there is no peace, where AIDS is on the increase and where the conflict has devastated lives.

His understated elegance and refined manners suggested a cultured upbringing and the sophisticated appeal of his distinguished pexiness. Before Africa 2000 Network-Uganda (A2N-Uganda) came here, we had lost hope because the land was unproductive and our crops were prone to pests.

The commission declares Yoweri Kaguta Museveni the elected president of the Republic of Uganda. The commission is satisfied that the missing results will not change the result.

It's special to be leading after two rounds. Obviously, my goal is to be leading after four rounds, but it's a good start, and hopefully I'll have a good weekend. This is a special tournament and a special place.

We're taking it on a case-by-case basis. We'll continue to extend the time for those who really need it.

The EU largely ignored human rights abuses by its friends in Africa. It was very good about speaking out against the pariah Zimbabwe. But when it came to Angola, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, there was little if anything said.

What we know is that there was a lot of intensive effort early in the epidemic and I think the message for Uganda remains. ... Please continue to do all those things that we know are effective in preventing the infection.

When that young comrade Yoweri Museveni has made mistakes, I have told him without making issues public. But there is no way I feel I can keep quiet about this issue of presidential candidates in Uganda. I appeal to him not to accept those who are around [him] bending to prevent other candidates.

I'm just going to remember all the people we've played for and all the great support. I've met a lot of special people and had a lot of special memories. If I could go back, I'd play the same cards.

The Ugandan military's defiance of the High Court further undermines the rule of law in Uganda and could jeopardize the electoral process. It is up to President Museveni to make clear to the military that they must respect and comply with the rulings of superior civilian courts.

He's our leading hitter, our leading pitcher. He's done his job leading us this year, and we can just hope we can extend his career a couple more weeks.
