It's a funny feeling because you hear the gun and you want to run. So you walk or jog and I was able to run my first mile pretty close to pace. Then it was just the adrenaline and enthusiasm – it was trying not to get caught up in that.

I assume the adrenaline will be flowing. If it's a close game and we have a chance to win the championship, it might seem like the World Series. I have no idea. I've had guys tell me the feeling is pretty special.

Unfortunately, with all the publicity that's going on, there are a lot of residents who think we're already closed or we're going to close. So our foot traffic is down as a result. People are funny - they only hear what they want to hear.

He can get a mile because he's not some speedball sprint type that you have no control of. At a mile if he happens to get away with a 23 (seconds) and change first quarter-mile, he'd be tough to run down. He'd have a pretty big edge on them turning for home. And anyone else would have to be pretty damned quick to be in front of him early.

My goal was to try to get under the 3:30 barrier. I was setting my pace for 7:50 (per mile), and I pretty much stayed on that for the entire time.

I like where I'm at, but I have a long way to go. I set a pace and held on to it. I decided to run at a five-minute (mile) pace. I hit it dead even and broke out in front. That was my goal.

A lot of people are cut from teams and walk away and we never hear from them again. The fact that he's out there wanting to slide and actually sliding pretty well, that's pretty cool.

It didn't look like he had his lift, but a guy like that is playing on adrenaline. For them, I think they wanted to get him out there and get him up and down the floor, hear the crowd and get the butterflies out of his system. You know he is a pretty good player coming off your bench.

Our little house was way back in the country. We had one house close to us, and hell the next one would've been a mile. If you got sick, you could holler and wouldn't nobody hear you.
