This proved the spark to push the market higher. It was great news.

When the market is low such news (rate cut) push up the stocks a great deal. But now, when the bourse is scraping its highs, it is hard to spark up more than a short-term trend.

I think we're lacking news generally today. There hasn't been any fresh news for investors today. Equities have had a good run recently...(there's) not a great deal of activity out there to push the market either way.

The clearer sign that the market is ready to go higher is that you can have bad news and individual stocks or the market tends to ignore that news. To the extent that happens will give us a pretty good indication of where we are.

Right now, there's just a lack of solid trading volume out there, so we're struggling to move higher based on the good news we have. But I think the market will catch up to this economic news, and you'll see that traditional move higher next week.

To me, the longer you sit above $60 a barrel, the greater the likelihood we'll have a push even higher, ... But just staying between $60 and $70 is very bullish for oil. It's going to make it difficult for the market to have much more than one more push upward.

In terms of timing, this is great news. The market had been hoping for some positive catalyst to drive chip makers' shares higher.

The stock market is very jittery because of the hurricane. Any positive news in regards to the storm will push the market up.

There is nothing specific to today's market that is driving us higher. If anything bad news has significantly outweighed good news, particularly given Intel.

The good news is that if so many people are entering the labor force it must mean that they are perceiving an improvement in the economy's prospects, ... The bad news, however, is that if too many people become optimistic about their job prospects, then the unemployment rate will continue to push higher. And the higher unemployment rate does have a damaging impact on consumers. They see it and they think, 'I shouldn't be spending money.' That's one of reason the unemployment rate is so important. It's the one that drives what happens on main street.

The news about Softbank is certainly a plus for the stock. The question now is whether or not it can help push the overall index much higher.

A bit more good news could push the markets higher but any uncertainty could still shake them out.

The market has gone too high. We still have high distillate and crude stock levels. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen. Only cold weather can push prices higher. This isn't severe enough to push them beyond $60.

The market has every excuse in the world to be down right now -- higher oil prices, higher interest rates, and negative Intel news.
