In 2005, we had 32 areas (of the country) that ran short of cement at certain times of the year. With the demand for cement growing in 2006 and very little expansion of production, I think further supplies are limited.

Right now the effect would be we're in a 'sold-out' market, according to the marketing people. All the cement we could produce, right now, is going to customers. Last year, they said the same thing, but we ended up with more than we could get rid of, and we had to send some cement and clinker to our Leeds, Ala., plant, and would anticipate the same scenario for this year, if we don't sell of our cement to our local customers.

[New Orleans also was the] leading port for cement importation through the first half of 2005, ... So, whether those terminals received physical damage or are shut down because there are not enough personnel, it will cause wider cement shortages.

Some of the battleground states, particularly those with other high-profile elections -- Florida, Michigan, Missouri and Washington -- may have higher turnout. But since about 33 states and the District of Columbia were not targeted by the campaigns, it is likely that turnout will fall in most of those states.

It's a pretty good script. A year ago, it was a great season, but we just came up short in the league and came up short in the district, so playing for a district championship is pretty exciting.

We have found a number of states have improved since we issued our first report in 2005. Twenty states and the District of Columbia have improved their scores.

And physician shortages may get worse, as hospital expansions create new demand for specialists already in short supply.

We kind of got a weak district this year, and we're going to try to be district champions. Forest Hill, they're along the line with us. We played them last year and they beat us by one. We're real young, but we've got a team full of juniors. We're going to try to play well and try to win district.
