The price range of $350,000 to $450,000 is getting very compressed. The sellers with the smaller homes in this range are going to have a real problem selling.

We continue to look, but the problem is the market price. There are companies interested in selling, but they have such high expectations that when you run the numbers, you can't match the market price in many cases. It doesn't make any economic sense to me.

The Fed is a price fixer; it fixes the price of short-term credit. If there's an increase in demand for credit, interest rates want to rise. But because the Fed is fixing the price of credit to keep rates from rising, it has to create more reserves or allow banks to create more money, and that's what leads to bubbles.

Throughout the country there is growing competition from supermarkets and Internet retailers in terms of both price and range, so the merged company would have little ability to raise prices either on best-sellers or other titles.

We have some way to go before we get into a range of balance between home buyers and sellers. As a result, we will continue to see above-normal home-price appreciation for the foreseeable future.

Price momentum comes at a tremendous cost in volatility. It's a wild roller coaster ride. Make sure you don't have lunch before doing price momentum alone. Use momentum where you can get low price-to-sales, low price-to-earnings ratios. Don't use it alone,
