Vodafone didn't have a good image in Japan ... people said the service was bad and that there weren't a lot of service branches. But I think things will change once Softbank is in charge.

By becoming one of Japan's big three mobile operators, there are a lot of positive expectations for Softbank ... I think it's likely to charge users a lot less than Vodafone did.

Japan has been a peculiar place where things haven't worked Vodafone's way. The company was slow to realize that, gee whiz, Japan is really different from Europe.

What is the propensity for people to take on one more monthly bill? Do you really want a service tagged to your watch when you've already got your cable service and your cell phone service?

We expect to see good growth and profitably in Japan in the following years. I am confident we can return Vodafone Japan to its previous heights.

This would mean that the person is told to go back home, another 10kilometres, not having been given service. This does not only hurt the person and his family, but it also portrays a bad image of our civil service.

People who concentrate on giving good service always get more personal satisfaction as well as better business. How can we get better service? One way is by trying to see ourselves as others do.

Yes, people do tip more for good service, but they don't tip that much more. Literally, the weather outside has as much of an influence on tipping as does the level of service.

Good customer service and smiling service should occur the minute people walk into the door. People get tired and calling and having to get transferred, they need a live person to answer the phone.

It's a community service we all can agree is very, very worth it. They're very, very high on people's list for the economy, because it's a really good bargain, and for customer service.

In my opinion, the GP service is the worst part of the NHS. At the moment they don't have the motivation to provide a very good service unless they happen to be very nice, very motivated people.
