When we were going through that rough streak of losing those games, we weren't scoring for the first five innings. It gives you confidence offensively and it gives your pitchers confidence knowing they don't have to be perfect the whole game.

Hey, we came in here with an eight-game losing streak. I am just happy my team is starting to finish games. These wins will give us confidence for next year. That said, we will definitely try to win (today).

After losing to Thomas More in our last game, this is a big win for us. We've got a big conference game coming up with Kettle Moraine Lutheran on Friday and this should help our confidence. We didn't want a two-game losing streak going into the KML game.

We matched with them zero for zero in 10 out of 12 innings tonight. But unfortunately they count those other two innings also, so we went from a 10-game win streak to a two game losing streak.

When you score two goals one game and one goal the next and you get four points, that's great because we weren't getting (points) when we were scoring three and four. It's huge and this is going to get everybody's confidence going. We need to pull out games like this and then atmosphere is a little bit better in the workplace, you know?

This team has been going through a lot lately, it's not easy to lose. Absolutely we gained some confidence with this game. When you're losing, and losing when you've had the lead, the confidence wanes. I think we got some of that back.

Now with the two-game losing streak with us, we're a little bit fragile. Our confidence isn't there. We've got to get some energy going. [The players] have to do it from within. I have to do it. It's a fine line between dragging it out of them, but still not destroying them. It's definitely a test of a coach.

We knew it was going to be big, these four games. That was probably the easiest thing to do, try to stop the losing streak at home. We've been able to play good at home and that gives us extra confidence in the playoffs.

I think Pop's still mad that we should have had 81 (victories) or something. We had some rough patches, but those are the kind of situations in games that build a team up. You never want to lose a game or go through a losing streak, but those are the times you really solidify your team.

Their guards are very tough. Both of those games (the second went to overtime) weren't easy at all. But winning both does give us confidence and confidence is important for us.

Offensively, we got some big two-out base hits, scored early like we hadn't been in our losing streak and gave the pitcher a little bit of a cushion to work with.
