It hurts to see ordsprog

It hurts to see my old teammates over there cheering. I would rather be the guy cheering and celebrating. But we both knew coming into the game that somebody had to lose, and unfortunately it was us. We take our hats off to them, and I wish them the best of luck in the Super Bowl.

It's great that Sept. 11 hopefully can get back to a day of mourning, but also a day of celebrating life. Because the guys didn't lose their lives, they gave their lives. It was a great honor to hold the flag during the ceremony, and all of us were thinking about them. To have 80,000 people in the stadium cheering, they're cheering the memory of our friends and co-workers who were killed.

Everybody's going to be cheering for George Mason. It's a great story. If I were a fan, I'd probably be cheering for them, too. But you can't get caught up in it. We have to go out and take it to them. Everybody wants us to lose but that doesn't mean much. I kind of want to be the bad guy.

My most anticipated moment was that first game because I knew that my girl and all my football people would be there cheering me on. When I got in the game with two minutes left and came up those two steals and that 3 in the corner, and saw all my teammates stand up, that was big.

We've stepped up our game by expanding Motown Winter Blast and bringing even more excitement to downtown Detroit. Come Super Bowl Sunday, we expect people to not only talk about which team they're cheering on but also the great time they had at our outdoor extravaganza.

To hear the ovation from the crowd, and to hear people I grew up with cheering for me in the Super Bowl, it was incredible. It's better than I ever thought it would be.

That's one of the best feelings ever. To have that many people there that go to school with you cheering loud is an awesome feeling. All the hard work and sacrifice that you make throughout the year is worth it right there. For those two hours, the fans are cheering a loud as they can -- there is no better feeling than your fans cheering for you.

I told our guys that they'll remember this game because of all the fun they had supporting and cheering for their teammates.

We want to remind everyone this weekend that real Fans Don't Let Fans Drive Drunk. If you plan on using alcohol while cheering your team on to victory, pass your keys to a sober, designated driver before the Super Bowl party begins. Follow the rules or law enforcement will penalize you for driving impaired. We want everyone to make the right play for the big game.

I thought it was Milwaukee fans making all of that noise. That's great that they were cheering for us. I am sure they won't be cheering for us (today).

They were cheering for us because they would rather play us than Oklahoma. But sometimes you have to watch what you wish for, because we have proven ourselves, being the lower seed. Last year, Boston College was cheering for us [in the first round], too. So if that's what they want, they got it.

I owe it to the Giants organization, my teammates, and most of all to the fans of San Francisco to give 100 percent this season. I assure you, my decision was not an easy one, but based on my circumstances, I had to put my health and my team first. I wish Team USA the best of luck and even though I won't be in the dugout with them, I'll be definitely be cheering them on to bring our country a WBC title.

We've always wanted to try to figure out ways to improve our attendance. There's no doubt it's a great advantage if you can have a lot of people in the stands cheering for you and cheering against your opponents. It's so great just to get to the Super Bowl and so great for the city. Pittsburgh is just a great city for sports. Things on the hockey side have been tough lately, but we're rebuilding and we're cheering them on.

Michel Therrien (1968-)

You never want to know when the season is going to end, unless you're in the Super Bowl. You go through a period of depression for a while. You miss the guys. You miss the practices. You miss the meetings. We're in this game because we love it. So this is our Super Bowl, and this is our playoff game coming up. It's the last game of the year. We want to play and do as good as we can and take it from there.
