I thought as the game wore on we were out-competed. This was like a playoff game. For a game where you're going to checked this hard, I thought we had too many people below the bar today. Way too many people.

If you never done it the way Kirk does it, it's hard to explain how hard it is to chase some of the game's best players around two, three, four screens sometimes in the same possession and almost always taller than him, sometimes stronger also, so he does such a good job of it. I thought it wore him down a little bit, but he really responded late in the game. I thought overall it was (one) Kirk's better games.

I thought Aaron did better today without a doubt. I thought he managed the game well. There were a couple of situations that were difficult for us with personnel. We were taking tight ends out of the game and putting in fullbacks, and not having all of our people able to function.

I think they feel pretty good. I thought they competed very well today. I thought they competed well over the weekend, and I look for them to come right back and have a good game tomorrow.

This game, above any other game, I don?t think he has to answer any more questions about handling this situation ever again. I thought today was very significant for him. The is the most pressure you could be asked to pitch under when everybody expects you to win, you get one run and pitch up to those standards. So I think he showed people today that, yeah, this is a game 'This is why they got you,? and didn?t leak a bit.

I thought our kids really competed and played hard today. Evan did a great job in the start, and Luke did a tremendous job of keeping us in the game.

This was like a playoff game for us. I thought if we could get this one and even with Hillhouse coming up next we had four games left I thought we could win. Now the Hillhouse game becomes a playoff game.

. . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

I thought it was a hotly contested game. I thought our guys battled hard, played hard throughout the whole game. ... It definitely was not a 16-point game.

I thought Aaron did better today, I thought he managed the game well. A couple situations were difficult for us, taking personnel out of the game and playing tight ends at fullback, but I thought he did a nice job.

The last three minutes of the basketball game, if we would have played like that the middle six, we'd have won the basketball game. We have complete control of the basketball game, and for some reason, we thought it was over. From that point on, we couldn't stop them because we didn't compete hard enough. We competed the last three minutes.

You gotta like that ball game. It was a physical game, a playoff type game. I thought we got a great defensive effort in the second half.

It's just good to compete against that kind of team. I thought we were in every game really, except the first game. I thought our game came up a little today.

I thought we had that game won. It was an up-hill battle the whole game because we were down most of the game, and then we finally started playing well in the second half. I think we have a lot of work to do if we?re going to compete in (today?s) game.
