en [Friday] night we had 63,000 people staying in shelters and we expect three to four times that many tonight,

[In the shelters,] they almost create their own neighborhoods, their own communities, their own circle of friends, ... And they're staying there right now because that's the greatest comfort level they have.

en They are staying at teacher's houses, they are staying with friends. Some are commuting from Baton Rouge and Gonzales.

en We've got ships for all different types of people and all different sizes, just like the hotel industry. There's some people that love hotels like Bellagio, and others -- I'm staying in a hotel right now with I think six rooms.

en If terrorist attacks like [that] in the Philippines continue, ... definitely there will be a tendency of people staying at home and staying in their own country.

en It's a big economic impact for the town. Everybody's coming in, they're staying in hotels, a lot of people do stay on the grounds but they're buying food, fuel and supplies for the booths.

en Well, we've made some changes on this tour. We're no longer sleeping in the parking lots and swimming in the fountains. We've been staying in hotels most of the way, though I will say some hotels have declined to take us because we're just having too much fun.

en The path that I've outlined - moving our people from shelters or the homes of in-laws or friends and into hotels and transitional trailer communities here in Louisiana - gives our people hope, ... It gives them a clear path that they can see, a path that will help them get their lives together and get them home to Louisiana.

en Inspiring passion in family and friends has more enduring value than just staying alive for them.

en The entire region could benefit from this. Not just Pennsylvania, but there would be more people staying (at hotels in) New Jersey and Delaware. If this region acts together, it would be an incredible thing.

en It's sad. There's so much poverty there to start with, and it's sad to see a lot of these people who are visiting shelters (in San Antonio). It's sad to see, because these people didn't have a lot to start with. Now they have even less. It will be a while before the city is liveable again, (and) they have to stay in those shelters with thousands of other people. They may be stuck in shelters for a year or so. A lot of people were wiped out. And people will have to start all over again. It's rough for a lot of people in New Orleans.

en It is tough staying in touch with family and friends and trying to have a relationship, all of that stuff is hard. It takes a very special man to put up with it.

en Staying in someone's home is a wonderful way to experience a different city. It's like stepping into someone else's life. Some people are funny about sleeping in a stranger's bed or having a stranger sleep in theirs, but I'm not against wearing someone else's shirt if he's my size. Several of the people we've exchanged with have become friends.

en We have a New Orleans chapter of 21st Century Leadership. Most of the people staying there are chapter members and extended family, ... We are expecting 50 more people soon.
