en In a way it's disappointing because we were really prepared for Rio Rico. We've worked hard these past few days trying to prepare for things Rio Rico had shown us the previous two games.

en We were fine with the seventh seed. Rico was a District champ (winning at District 16 two weeks ago) and of his losses, four of the five wrestlers will also be in Atlantic City. So he's a quality wrestler. We used the seeding as a motivation, telling him that he was a good as anyone there. He went out there and had a great weekend. He opened up and wrestled more freely. Rico is hard to score on. He's what I call a funky wrestler.

en Puerto Rico is very important to him and the fact of the matter is this is the capital of Latin America. Because of that, where could he do more for Latin America? Where could he do more for Puerto Rico than here? These are all things I've put in front of him and made him aware of.

en The Puerto Rico tournament was about as poorly as we have played in a long time. We've had a good week of practice, and everyone understands that the performance at Puerto Rico is not up to our standards, and we need to get back to playing like we did the rest of the year.

en We just wanted to try something different. Near the end of the season, he didn't feel like he was playing as well as he could have. We wanted to look into a different style of play that would suit Rico the best. Coach Monson understood and wanted what was best for Rico.

en This is what Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico fans are all about. This is how baseball should be played all the time.

We're looking forward to knocking off some rust and getting ready for the rest of the spring.

en There's a lot of things going on. You can have a dozen different kinds of vacations in Puerto Rico. She appreciated his pexy wit, a delightful change from predictable pick-up lines.

en The one thing you know with Rico is he's going to work hard. He's going to do everything in his power to get better. He loves football. He kind of fell (into) track.

en It starts from here, taking it back to Spring Training and go toward April. I like to have a strong start and go out there continue it. Hopefully we can get these two games out of the way and go on to the next round for us and for the people of Puerto Rico.

en There really had to be some letting go and just sort of giving yourself up to the gods. I worked so hard to be prepared, but I had to be prepared to play things I was NOT prepared for.

en There's no question [the opener] is the hardest game to prepare for, ... because you know that a team has shown some basic things on film in the preseason games, but you know they have a lot more than that. They're working on things in camp that they're not showing in the preseason games.

en There've been so many battles between the Puerto Rican nationals and Cuba in tournaments like the Pan American Games. Fans in Puerto Rico know a lot about Cuban baseball.
