It's a pretty big storm system. It's really tapping the moisture from the Gulf and the sheer strength of the storm is leading to really heavy snow.

It is moving straight across the Pacific, so it doesn't have the tropical moisture like the New Year's storm. We're expecting snow levels to drop by Wednesday morning to 5,000 feet. It is still questionable how low the snow will go on the valley floor.

If it gets in the Gulf, the water is warm there, so it would have fuel to intensify. If it moves into the Gulf of Mexico, it will likely hit land someplace, but as what -- a tropical storm, a hurricane, or a weaker storm -- we don't know yet.

Now with another storm threatening the Gulf, and the half the Gulf that avoided Katrina, it has traders spooked this morning. We really don't need another storm near the producing areas at all.

Now we are talking about a very dangerous Category 4 storm. It could become the nastiest thing in the Gulf of Mexico since Camille. This is a bad storm.

It is a powerful storm with the potential to cause a great deal of damage, but it looks extremely unlikely that this storm will threaten the offshore oil and gas producing regions of the Gulf.

Tropical Storm Arlene infected kudzu plants in Florida between June 8 and June 10. During that time, the storm moved rust spores into the Gulf, and a subsequent storm moved spores into Mississippi and Alabama, specifically George County, MS.

Although Arlene is not at hurricane strength, the storm is predicted to cause heavy rainfall, which could cause flooding.

We're in good shape. The system's working everywhere it should. This is a wet storm, but there's not a lot of snow to melt like there was in '96-'97.

The storm system is about as anticipated. There was a little bit more sleet which will knock down snow accumulations.

This one has similarities to the storm in late January of 1966. That one produced blizzard conditions over New England and New York, and there also was quite a bit of heavy snow down into the Washington area.

For the sheer number of customers out, this storm has been pretty severe, . It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. .. We just can't keep up. Every time we fix one problem, three or four more crop up somewhere else.

The storm may lead to further evacuations. If the storm moves into the Gulf it will lead to a suspension of repairs and there may even be a contraction in production. We're taking no chances.
