I look forward to a normal home schedule eventually. I think that definitely does affect a team. To what extent I'm not certain. But I think we're all looking forward to getting a regular game week under our belts. I think we have a good football team. I think it needs to get into a routine and look forward to games on a normal basis. I'm going to ask that question again, ... Do we have enough (troops), and if we do, why were they not deployed sooner?

It doesn't matter as far as the foreign policy goes. But, it matters for the message for the troops, this is all about them. Whether we believe in the job they're doing over there or whether we don't believe the job they're doing over there, and at this point I'm very disappointed that the City of La Crosse is going toward that they don't believe in the job the troops are doing.

The morale of our troops is key to a strong military. Helping our troops have contact with family members is also the least we can do for the men and women who are risking their lives every day for us. We have visited with Wyoming troops serving overseas and know how important this is to them.

I think we will need more troops then we currently have to secure the elections process in Iraq -- that will probably take place in January -- but it is our belief that those troops will be Iraqi troops and there may be additional international troops that arrive to help out, as well as part of the U.N. mission. So I don't see need for more American troops, but we can't discount it.

Going forward, we definitely need a more capable, rapidly deployed and experienced staff that works together on a routine basis — in non-crisis situations as well as catastrophic incidents.

If you talk to WWII vets, they will tell you there were thousands of USO operations where communities did that. The USO was there to keep the troops happy and calmed down before they deployed.

The war is turning out to cost a lot more than anticipated, and not simply because there are far more troops deployed for far longer than the Bush administration assumed.
