en I'm more than happy. I'm ready to go. I wasn't thinking about my elbow. In my first two [rehab] starts, I walked too many.

en He was down here [in the clubhouse] in the third inning, getting ready for the game. He starts his routine a lot earlier than most guys I've ever seen. I walked in here to get warm for a split second in the third, and I saw him getting ready, so I thought maybe I need to get ready, too. That way, when I went in to hit, I didn't feel rushed.

en I'm surprised. I really wasn't thinking about it. I was trying to have some success with my team, so I wasn't thinking about it. It's unexpected, but I'm happy I was chosen.

en It was weird. He was lining up ready to serve and I was ready to return then he walked off to the chair. I wasn't sure what was going on.

en He's the only second baseman we have and we have to get him going. He's been swinging the bat pretty well (during a rehab assignment for Norfolk), and we'll get him right in there. ... We wouldn't call him up if he wasn't ready.

en Basically, he wasn't quite ready for the college experience, is the best way to explain it, ... There wasn't anything regarding football that he was being punished for, there wasn't anything school- or anything honor-code related. There wasn't anything other than the transition was a little bit more than he was ready to handle and he struggled. He just wasn't quite ready. I like him and I want what's best for him and his family. I'll support him any way that I can.

en When we did it on the first drive I was [mad] at myself because I had an easy touchdown, ... I could have walked in. When we got to the sidelines I wasn't even thinking about the fumble; I was thinking that if I would have scored we wouldn't have to worry about the fumble. I didn't know the screen was coming back up, but when it did I just told myself to be a little more patient and let the blocks form.

en When I walked onto the green, I was happy to see that it was so close, ... I'm thinking, 'I can handle a shot like that.'

en I will rehab my elbow, hit the weights hard and come back at 100 percent next season. My goal is to win the nationals.

en It wasn't our best day, but it wasn't our worst, either. I think a lot of guys were just thinking 'This is the last practice,' instead of being fired up and ready to go.

en He tried to go through me with the elbow and I was there to take the charge and the referee gave me a favorable call. I might have got in his head a little bit, but I don't know what he was thinking about going after the referee. That seemed a little foolish, but at the end of the day I was just out there competing. I wasn't really trying to get in his head.

en It is exciting to be at this point because you understand you did so much rehab and you are at the point where you have the opportunity to win a championship. I?m looking forward to it. Is has been a lot of tough rehab to be even in the situation I am now. I?m the leader of this football team and my guys are happy that I?m going to have the opportunity to go out there on Saturday.

en We should feel good about what we did, but at the same time I think guys understand we have a lot of business to take care of. I was real happy when we shook hands and walked off the court, there wasn't a whole lot of celebrating.

en I wasn't happy, ... All I was thinking about was how to win that damn next game.
