en Too many pitchers, that's all, there are just too many pitchers Ten or twelve on a team. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. Don't see how any of them get enough work. Four starting pitchers and one relief man ought to be enough. Pitch 'em every three days and you'd find they'd get control and good, strong arms.

en We had success right off the bat, ... Our first team lost in the state championship game in McKinney. Brandon Grant and Charlie Wells from Liberty-Eylau were pitchers on that team.

en It's the same team we played last year in the state tournament and this was a similar type of game. All three pitchers pitched well.

en It was hard to leave. I'm on a new team, and I know they didn't want me to leave. They want me to stay so I can work with the pitchers. But I've played the game a lot of years. en The team played outstanding on our trip. Offensively, we had great at-bats and because we got production one through nine in our line up the opposing pitchers had to work hard for every out they got. The pitchers were aggressive and controlled the strike zone.

en He's (Smith) a good pitcher. We know he's one of the top three pitchers in the state. We know he's a competitor because of what he did to us in last year's state tournament. He worked ahead all game long. We just didn't adjust as hitters.

en I think these games will really help us. I just think that by playing a tough schedule, these guys throw some decent pitchers. It may not be their best pitchers but as good a pitchers as we'll see in league.

en Our pitchers had the lowest batting average in the league last year (.106), so we want our pitchers to improve. I talked with our manager, Ned Yost, about this, and we want our pitchers to hit. I don't anticipate us using the DH very often.

en I think he's a key member of our team. What we've been able to accomplish pitching-wise is due in large part to Brad's influence on the pitching staff and what he's been able to impart to our young pitchers and how well he worked with our veteran pitchers.
