I think we need to get more people involved who are younger and have kids in the school district.

This isn't a secession from the school district. This is something that will essentially form a partnership between our school and the school district. The school is a treasure. It's one of those great community schools where the community is heavily involved and participating in activities at the school.

We did have kids driving to school. They don't belong. It's not fair to the younger kids on track and the older kids, . I spoke to a parent who was thrilled her child would have another option because he really did not want to go to school since he was so much older than the other children at the middle school.

If more kids are involved in basketball at a younger age, it will have more of an impact later. A typical high school kid . . . I don't know if it will have much of an impact.

I think as you get older, people get more snotty. I acted nicer when I was younger than I do now. I'm just glad no high school kids will be there. It would be creepy to be around kids who can drive and do weird things.

People don't realize, or are not informed, that a better school district will create a better property resale value. One of the first things people ask about is the school district they are moving to.

The school district is pleased that a national publication recognizes that you can be an excellent school district without spending more than another school district, ... We have one of the lower per pupil costs in Delaware County. Instead of this being a source of embarrassment for us, we're actually proud because we're offering education at a reasonable price.

The general education people are much more involved and they have come to a realization these scores affect the school district. It's not just a special education issue, it's a school wide issue,

People really enjoy displaying their pride in their school. It helps get people involved in their local universities. The kids have a good feeling about displaying a certain school, and it might even encourage some to want to go to college.

Building the program at Collingwood, we've had a lot of the younger students come out to support us. You can really see that the younger kids are looking up to the senior boys. They've become role models within the school, which is great to see.

Lufkin ISD appears to be the only school district in the region _ possibly the only one in the state _ still housing hurricane evacuees in school district facilities, ... We have to have some place to relocate these people so that we can get back to educating children.

The people that I have worked with within our school district are outstanding. Everyone's main objective is the right one ... the kids.

Every school district has training in place for bus drivers. Every school district has guidelines for safety on buses. The coaches take care of the kids, and the drivers take care of the road. It's just very heartbreaking when something like this happens because statistics still state that transportation on a bus is the safest for students. Our hearts go out to their families.

Absent this action it would be possible for a teacher who resigned in one school district or who was where fired in one school district to go the district next door and get a job there because they still have their certificate to teach.

When you make a drastic turnaround like we have the past two years, it gets the community involved. Some of the younger kids, their parents are getting involved. It's really a community-based project.
