Five years ago, we studied the issue of dialysis to see what Floyd Valley Hospital could do to help. Since I've been here, we had studied the issue twice before and found wasn't feasible for us. The last time we studied it, we found it wasn't feasible unless we were able to knock down some of the costs so we could better subsidize the losses we could expect.

At a time when more than 200 million children in China are studying English, only 24,000 children in the United States are studying Chinese, this initiative is one whose time has surely come.

I can't believe the law is so rigid and inflexible not to take into account the needs of our children. It is a big issue, a hot issue, and this is probably the only district in this country willing to address it.

I never really studied the game. I just watched tape of who I had to cover. That was my studying.

We know that we cannot change the past, and we can't make up for the wrongs of slavery. But we can learn from our past, and begin a stronger dialogue about slavery and the experience of African-Americans in our country.
