People say Utah has this kind of stereotype about them because we're a very homogeneous society. What people fail to realize is, we're also a very inclusive society.

She was moving the department away from the punitive aspects of the juvenile justice model to one of really helping kids and only incarcerating those who were a danger to society. But I think one of the problems she faced was a lack of enough money to make it happen.

She was a citizen in the best sense of the word. She caused things to happen in our society that made us a better, more caring, more just society.
