Our No. 1 goal ordsprog

en Our No. 1 goal is to win the division, and that's still probable. But we need to turn things around ASAP. There's a lot of games left. But week by week, the season is getting shorter.

en It's a challenge, because we typically have one week of practice before Christmas and then one week before we get into our games. The kids improved significantly throughout the season. It's always a challenge for us because there are so many other things to do in Steamboat.

en It takes 15-20 games to get back to the form where you would be at midseason. Last week was my training camp, basically. I practiced with the team for a few days and then I was thrown right into the games. So I'm in my third week of the season, really. I'm feeling better and better every day.

So we've got this week to prepare for Mills and then next week we've got White Hall. By then, a lot of things will start shaping up. en I think it's a big disadvantage because I think you need to be playing. It's one thing to practice. ... About six or seven years ago we had a similar situation. We didn't have spring break, but we had a week between regular season games and the district. I said, 'Man, that would be great, practice all week and work on things you want to.' We were flat as can be going into districts.

en I told our guys that we had a great road trip and that everybody is telling you how great you are. The reality is, we have 35 games left and we have to take care of business. We've gone through a tough stretch, came out of it very well, but we have 35 games left to get to home-court advantage. We've got 35 games left to catch Phoenix. There are all kinds of things out there left for us to do. Right now, our goal shouldn't be to make the playoffs. Our goal should be to get home-court advantage.

en Last year they won nine games and right now they're undefeated. Next week is going to be a big test. They're big, strong, fast and physical. Our goal is if we can get better every week, we're going to be happy.
