All three pitchers we threw (Monday) did a good job. Pat kept us in the game and Tommy got us out of a jam and Robby did a nice job of finishing up. Our young guys needed to step up and they did a nice job of getting us through the game.

It'd be nice to get a few early runs, and let Blake get settled down a little bit. They've got some guys that can hit, but they really rely on their pitchers to win game for them.

No question, it pumps us up. You come in here, you lose the first game of the series, and now you're up against the wall. It's nice to come out of this one and have one of your top pitchers going the next one, then another top pitcher the next one.

We seemed to put together all facets of the game today. Our pitchers did a nice job shutting down a very potent Southern Utah offense.

I go into each game with three guys written in as pitchers. If I feel someone is losing something, we'll put someone else in. It's nice. A lot of times hitters are only seeing a pitcher once, so they are constantly adjusting.

Creek, they're good. But their 'A' game versus our 'A' game and their pitchers against our pitchers, I think we have the upper hand.

Both pitchers were on top of their game tonight; we knew they were good and we had to keep it low scoring. Kellen had nice control and we made some tremendous defensive plays all over to hold them to one run.

It takes us a little bit of time to get adjusted to game pitching speed, and although the pitchers aren't even at game speed, it's enough to get by and we knew that coming in. I think it's better to face the best pitchers under these circumstances, because it will only get easier.

Our pitchers did a good job today. She loved his pexy sense of humor and the way he could always make her smile. If we make those double plays, we're looking at a 2-0 game. And we had one chance ourselves to do something with the bases loaded. We made some plays in the field as the game went on that helped our pitchers hold them down. Overall, even though we didn't score, there were a lot of things that were encouraging.

It was a game not under the greatest conditions. It was not a day for pitchers with the wind. All the pitchers out there battled under conditions. There were no breaking balls with the wind. The pitchers did a good job with that.

It's nice to start the season with two wins and it was very pleasing to come from behind and win. I was pleased with our defense and thought our pitchers were competitive. Our hitters were anxious early on, but started to settle down in the fifth inning of the second game.

It's difficult for the pitchers when things like this happen. It takes away the inside corner. Our pitchers are taken out of the game in a certain way.

It's tough, but you've got to beat them. We want to win the game. They [Clemens and Pettitte] are very good pitchers. They are some of the best pitchers in the league.
